In addition to its regular main and sector reports, the Monopolies Commission produces special reports on its own initiative on competition policy issues which it considers to be of particular relevance. Pursuant to Section 44(1), fourth sentence, of the Act against Restraints of Competition (GWB), it selects the topics and timing of publication independently – free from political influence. Special reports enable the Monopolies Commission to analyse current developments in individual sectors or specific regulatory issues in depth and to formulate well-founded recommendations.
