We offer students the opportunity to gain practical insights into competition policy analysis and policy advice, and to make a genuine contribution to our work. An internship should generally last between 6 and 8 weeks to allow you to make a meaningful contribution. We can take on interns for up to 3 months. A further requirement for a voluntary internship is that you have not previously completed an internship at a federal authority. In the case of supervised final-year dissertations, the duration may be longer and will be based on the deadline set out in your degree programme regulations. We provide a small allowance for every placement – whether compulsory or voluntary.

As a general rule, we supervise trainee lawyers during their administrative and electoral placements. However, not all judicial examination offices accept placements at the Monopolies Commission during the administrative placement. Anyone applying for the administrative placement should therefore check in advance with the relevant authority whether a placement at the Monopolies Commission is possible.
