#TeamCompetition

Commission members and staff work closely together at the Monopolies Commission. Through expert reports, policy briefs, statements and related public engagement, we provide evidence-based analyses and constructive recommendations. As an independent policy advisory body, we thereby strengthen competition in Germany and Europe — as the foundation for limiting power, enabling freedom and safeguarding social prosperity.

How we work together

Our work is underpinned by many years of expertise and the exchange of different perspectives. We incorporate insights from both academia and practice, engage in dialogue with associations, companies, public authorities, government departments and NGOs, and hold regular meetings to discuss the key themes of our reports and statements.

Our work is guided by six principles:

  • We work independently.
  • We are constructive and forward-looking.
  • We analyse systematically.
  • We work scientifically.
  • We communicate clearly.
  • We consider Germany and Europe as a whole.

Five independently appointed members, with expertise in economics and law as well as in business practice, advise on, decide upon and are responsible for the substantive work of the Monopolies Commission.

Staff with expertise in economics and law prepare analyses, evaluate data and support the Commission’s work from the initial research stage right through to publication.
