Berlin/Bonn, 9 July 2026 – The Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy today appointed Prof. Dr Tomaso Duso and Constanze Buchheim to the Monopolies Commission for a further four years. They were presented with their letters of appointment during the handover of the Monopolies Commission’s 26th Main Report to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs. Both have been members since 2022 – their second term of office ends in June 2030.
Constanze Buchheim is an entrepreneur. She brings to the Monopolies Commission’s work many years of entrepreneurial experience, as well as her expertise in the digital economy and the start-up ecosystem (as an investor and supervisory board member).
Prof. Dr Tomaso Duso is a professor of empirical industrial economics and heads the Department of Firms and Markets at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). He is also a professor at the Technical University of Berlin. He has been Chair of the Monopolies Commission since September 2024.
The other members of the Monopolies Commission are: Pamela Knapp, Dagmar Kollmann and Prof. Dr Rupprecht Podszun.
