What is accessibility?

Accessibility means that
everyone can use our website,
including people with disabilities –
for example, people with visual or hearing impairments.

This statement applies to the Monopolies Commission’s website.

This statement was written in June 2026.

We are working to ensure that our website is accessible to everyone.
This is also a legal requirement.
The law is called the Disability Equality Act.

An assessment body has tested our website.
The assessment body is called the Federal Monitoring Body for Accessibility in Information Technology.
In short: BFIT-Bund.
The assessment took place in July 2026.

The testing body found a few issues.
We have fixed almost all of them.
Only two things are not yet accessible:

Firstly: Not all PDF files are accessible.
These are mainly old PDF files.
These files were created long before the new rules came into force.
Do you need a specific PDF file in an accessible format?

Secondly: There are currently no videos in German Sign Language.
We are currently working on these videos.
The videos will be added to the website at a later date.

We are continuing to improve our website on an ongoing basis.
