The Monopolies Commission mourns the loss of Dr Horst Greiffenberg, who played a key role in shaping the work of our institution over many decades.
Horst Greiffenberg worked at the Monopolies Commission’s secretariat from 1977 to 2012, serving as its Secretary-General for over three decades. With great dedication and a clear commitment to competition, he laid the foundations during this period upon which the Monopolkommission’s work is still based today. Despite changes in the Commission’s membership and shifts in its remit, he ensured continuity and high standards in competition policy advice. His work played a key role in sustainably strengthening the Monopolkommission’s reputation in political, academic and public circles.
The Monopolkommission will honour his memory. Our thoughts are with his family.
