The format
Germany is debating industrial policy – vociferously, urgently, and with billions at stake. Our 2026 flagship report seeks answers to the question of what measures the German economy needs to remain competitive.
To provide you with a concise overview of the key findings of our analyses following the report’s publication, we warmly invite you to our public webinar:
Competition Briefing on the 2026 Main Report
14 July 2026, 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm
Online via Zoom
The Monopolies Commission’s research team will present the key content of the Main Report in two thematic blocks. The focus will be on an open discussion of the findings and recommendations. Questions can be asked via the chat function after each block. Four topics will be covered:
- What do developments at the 100 largest companies reveal about the state of German industry?
- How can industrial policy – from the burden of electricity prices to the promotion of strategic technologies – strengthen competition?
- Why is the AI transformation falling short of its potential, and how can we accelerate progress?
- How can competition law be made more effective, for example in relation to the fuel sector, the defence industry and within the framework of the 12th amendment to the Act Against Restraints of Competition (GWB)?
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The webinar is intended for professional discussion and is not for quotation.
