With the event “Competition at the Crossroads of Industrial Policy and Ecological Transformation”, the Monopolies Commission celebrated its anniversary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) with high-profile guests, including Robert Habeck, Klaus Müller, Konrad Ost, Achim Wambach, Justus Haucap, Rupprecht Podszun and Veronika Grimm. “We should do a better job of implementing the recommendations,” said Veronika Grimm, referring to the Monopol Commission’s previous energy reports. A key takeaway from the lively discussions was that competition and innovation are the key factors for ecological transformation.

The Commission members Jürgen Kühling (Chair), Constanze Buchheim, Tomaso Duso, Pamela Knapp and Dagmar P. Kollmann would like to thank their guests from the worlds of politics, academia, industry associations and business, as well as the BMWK, for their hospitality. Last but not least, the Monopolkommission would also like to thank the team at its secretariat: Marc Bataille, Juliane Scholl, Stefan Bulowski, Thiemo Engelbracht, Christian Hildebrandt, Emanuel Kollmann, Carl Kreuzberg, Kim-Ines Meier, Jonathan Meinhof, Sebastian Oschmann, Jan Philip Schain, Hendrik Schmitz, Torben Stühmeier, Oliver Zierke, Marion Schadowski, Bettina Susok and Karsten Schulz.
